GET TO KNOW US

Sir William Peel is a public house located in Sandy town, opposite the St. Swithuns Parish Church and named after son of Prime Minister Robert Peel. Sir William was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery under fire and, upon his return from battle, he built a railroad between our town and Potton. Sir William is commemorated by a statue in the church, and there is information about him in our pub on the wall below his picture. There is only one pub in the world named Sir William Peel and that's us!

We are a traditional pub that serves traditional real ale. We have featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide for 18 years and we have copies available in the pub from 2002 onwards for you to read. We have also been a part of the Oakham Academy since 2011 which means if you enjoy Oakham Ale we always have one of their beers on pump. Batemans XB is our house ale which is a lovely pint for everyone. If you like to try new beers we have rotating guest ales on two of our pumps.
A traditional friendly pub where everyone is welcomed by staff and customers.

100% from Cask Marque so far.
